What’s happening with the real estate market in one of our local municipalities

Published June 13, 2026

Michelle Martin is a local REALTOR®, a Director of the Victoria Real Estate Board, and she has supported buyers and sellers with their property transactions in the Highlands.

When asked what a buyer can expect viewing properties in the Highlands, Martin notes, “Most homes in the Highlands are situated on larger properties, offering gardens, room to explore, and the ability to enjoy the quiet surroundings. Instead of typical urban services, many properties operate with private well water and septic systems, giving homeowners a more rural, self-sufficient way of living.”

Martin adds that the small community has a lot to offer, “Residents enjoy incredible access to hiking, biking, and nature trails, with forests, lakes, and protected green spaces right at their doorstep. You’ll find charming local roadside stands offering everything from farm-fresh eggs to homemade baking, and locally grown goods. Living in the Highlands means quiet evenings, star-filled skies, wildlife sightings, and room to roam.”

There are 13 single family homes for sale in the Highlands, starting at just under $1 million, up to over $3.5 million. There are no condos or townhomes currently available - but there are a small number of building sites for sale where you could build your dream home!
