Community Fight Against Crystal Meth
The Issue
Crystal Meth abuse poses a serious challenge to the health of local
neighbourhoods and to the quality of life of the community.
VREB Position
The Board urges other professions and groups to join with Victoria
area REALTORS® to help the Crystal Meth Society of BC with
both financial and in-kind resources to help the Society address
the problem of Crystal Meth addiction and prevent the situation
from getting any worse.
News Release: March 1, 2006 - REALTORS® Call on the Community
to Join the Fight Against Crystal Meth.
Update
During 2005-2006 Victoria area REALTORS® participated with
other groups in helping generate support for the Crystal Meth Society
of BC. This led to the Salvation Army opening the first Vancouver
Island six-bed treatment facility for Crystal Meth addicts in March,
2007.
Victoria area REALTORS® continue to work with other groups
to help find housing solutions for Crystal Meth addicts.
